I am Meme Festival
Internet culture festival
I am Meme is an internet culture festival curated by La Juan Gallery that starts from a clear premise: memes are also one of the artistic languages of the 21st century. Conceived as a crossroads between contemporary art, performance, and digital culture, the project transforms the Pilar Miró Cultural Center (Villa de Vallecas, Madrid) into a space where the screen is shared and the timeline is experienced live.
The festival brings together content creators, visual artists, musicians, and DJs connected to the meme universe and aesthetics born on social media. The program combines concerts, DJ sets, exhibitions, collective TikTok viewings, workshops, and participatory activities such as meme battles and live creation sessions, transforming digital formats into in-person experiences.
I am Meme proposes viewing the memesphere as a territory of humor, critique, and political narrative, where alternative storytelling is explored and representations are expanded. More than a series about "youth" or "viral" content, the festival is conceived as a space for curious minds of all ages who want to think, laugh, and recognize themselves in a simple idea: to a greater or lesser degree, we are all memes.
