Live Art in the Plaza
Contemporary art in the heart of the people
Live Arte in the Plaza is a program by La Juan Gallery that brings contemporary art to the heart of everyday life: the plazas of the Community of Madrid. These public spaces are transformed into open stages where works are created live and shared without barriers.
The project brings together local artists with five contemporary creators curated by La Juan Gallery, who develop their pieces in front of the public. This close interaction fosters a direct dialogue that strengthens the bond between artists, residents, and visitors.
The aim is to bring contemporary art beyond museums and galleries, transforming it into a vibrant, dynamic, and accessible experience. Public squares thus become educational, informative, and inclusive meeting places where anyone can approach art through curiosity and shared experience.
Each session, lasting approximately 90 minutes, offers the opportunity to converse with the artists, ask questions, and learn about their creative processes. The works are designed around interaction: the public not only observes but actively participates and collaborates in the creation of the piece.
